Wikipedia went down today, Wednesday, due to the overheated servers. According to sources, the issue started in Europe, the cooling systems failed to kick in. This triggered the DNS to fail causing the entire site go down and offline. It started around 11 am.
According to the Wikipedia blog, "This problem was quickly resolved, but unfortunately it may take up to an hour before access is restored for everyone, due to caching effects."
However, Wikipedia is now back.
